visualweather.xyz is a part in Jean Boehm's bachelor degree. He created different web based infographics and data visualisations. On this website you can find four experiments which work with real time weather data. In the process of visualising this kind of data the question came up, »what kind of data someone need?« In order to give an answer to this question these four experiments are based on four different information-levels, from precise to abstract. You can get more information on each experiment itself. Just go ahed and try entering some cities!
Experiment 03_Emotional WeatherIn this Experiment the letters and numbers are no longer the main information. The weather is shown in a Oil-Painting and lets the user immediatly see the overall weather condition. It still gives enough information for most people.
Please Note! In this experiment there is no difference between night and day. The temperature is also not included in the pictures. I thought about it and it would be possible to have both variables included in the paintings. The temperature could be included in the overall color-temperature of each picture. A night and day variable is also possible.
But hey this was one experiment of my bachelor degree and to link all these pictures would go beyond the scope. Right now there are 72 pictures which can describe every weather condition.
